Pretty much ALL marketing aims at one thing. Eyeballs. The more people see it, the better.
I have always curious whether that's the right approach. People see it 15 times will make them remember the ads (most of the time). But is that the only thing you want? For a brand to be successful, you need to capture the heart and soul. Eyeball alone doesn't do that part of the job.
However, I have come to realized that, heart and soul don't come with marketing. It comes with your product. It comes with how the customer feel when they get it. Do you wanna trick your customers to buy your product and never come back again? or you want them to be a happy customer. That'll make the difference.
It's unbelievable how many business are profit-oriented rather than customer-oriented. But also because of that, there is always business opportunity in the area where customer is not the focal point.
